This is the sentence imposed on assailants who operated on the Roosevelt, Aguilar Batres and Periférico roads
The Fifth Criminal Sentencing Court found guilty 13 members of a criminal structure called “Motoladrones” and imposed on them penalties ranging from 6 to 32 years in prison, depending on the crime committed.
The investigations were carried out by the Office of the Prosecutor for Crimes against Life and Integrity of Persons, in which “Determining that the convicts were engaged in committing robberies aboard motorcycles and armed robberies of those who circulated at peak traffic hours in their vehicles,” the Public Ministry (MP) detailed through its social networks.
The investigating body pointed out that those sentenced committed the criminal acts in the different main roads of the department of Guatemala, especially at times of intense traffic to act on board their vehicles and through the use of violence they deprived their victims of cell phones to later sell what was taken.
The places where the criminal network operated were in the Calzada Roosevelt, Aguilar Batrés and Periférico.
They were found guilty of committing the crimes of illicit association, homicide, aggravated robbery and commercialization of telephones reported as stolen, as detailed by the MP.
Of those responsible, crimes and penalties
- Kevin Rodrigo Castro received the maximum sentence of 32 years in prison for the crime of murder
- Julio Armando García Solórzano must serve a 7-year prison sentence, after being found guilty of the crime of aggravated robbery
- José David González Sical was sentenced to 7 years in prison for the crime of aggravated robbery
- Guillermo Antonio Morales García, alias “Yemo loco”, a punishment of 10 years in prison for the crime of aggravated robbery
- Jonathan Raúl Ibarra Pérez, alias “Fiona”, sentenced to 9 years in prison for the crime of aggravated robbery
- Mario Efraín Oliva Juárez, alias “Baraco, a sentence of 8 years in prison for the crime of aggravated robbery
- Mario René Rosales Gamarro, alias “Fat”, sentenced to 8 years in prison for the crime of aggravated robbery
- Tácito Pinto Samayoa, alias “Diez”, sentenced to 7 years in prison for the crime of aggravated robbery
- Luis Gustavo Borrayo, alias “Diez”, sentenced to 7 years in prison for the crime of continuous aggravated robbery
- Miguel Ángel Cuin Macario, alias “Chiki”, sentenced to 6 years in prison and a fine of Q100,000 for the crime of selling mobile terminal equipment reported as stolen, stolen, lost or altered
- Melvin Omar Yus Flores, sentenced to 6 years in prison and a fine of Q100,000 for the crime of selling mobile terminal equipment reported as stolen, stolen, lost or altered
- Mario Alexander Mejía Monroy, alias “Cuso”, sentenced to 7 years in prison for the crimes of illicit association and aggravated robbery
- Gerson Estuardo Ramos Lemus alias “Colocho”, sentenced to 7 years in prison for the crimes of illicit association and aggravated robbery
