Guatemala City, Nov 24 (AGN).- In Puerto Quetzal, Escuintla, tourists from the Zuiderdam cruise ship, from the Holland America Cruises line, were welcomed.
The Guatemalan Tourism Institute (Inguat) reported that visitors took advantage of their stay in the country to learn about the country’s attractions.
According to data from this entity, 1,780 passengers and 782 people who make up the crew travel on this cruise.

Places such as the colonial city of Antigua Guatemala, the Pacaya volcano, the Iximché archaeological site and Guatemala City were some of the points visited.
Others decided on the beaches of Monterrico, Autosafari Chapín or the coffee and macadamia plantations.

For tourists to travel around the country, the corresponding migratory control services were carried out.
Given this, and as part of the inter-institutional support, this assistance is provided by the Guatemalan Institute of Migration (IGM).
The Inguat authorities have reiterated the importance of the arrival of foreign visitors to Guatemalan territory.
This allows to publicize the cultural and natural wealth that Guatemala has. In this sense, efforts are made to make the stay of tourists pleasant, since they can carry the message that Guatemala is “amazing and unstoppable”, as highlighted in the Country Brand strategy.
It also allows the promotion of local development, since the increase in tourism allows Guatemalan merchants to offer their products to visitors and obtain economic income.

The work carried out by the Government of Guatemala in promoting tourism is contemplated in the Relations with the World axis, of the General Government Policy 2020-2024.
This action is intended to ensure the use of international relations so that, in addition to good diplomatic relations, international trade, tourism and investment improve, among other aspects.
