Public and private sectors reaffirm commitment to achieve SDGs
Guatemala City, Nov 17 (AGN).- Representatives of the public and private sectors reaffirmed their commitment to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). This after the presentation of the report has been carried out. Acting in the present, thinking about the future.

The purpose of the activity was to publicize the progress of public-private partnerships in achieving the SDGs.

Government position
The Foreign Minister, Mario Bucaro, He emphasized that cooperation between both sectors promotes the country’s productivity, development and sustainability.
In addition, he mentioned that the current administration has encouraged dialogue between both sectors to promote a sustainable development agenda for the country in which no one is excluded.
This covers, especially, the approach to food safety and the environment, recalled the chancellor.
He also expressed the commitment of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to continue working together with the private sector in the implementation of institutional policies that guarantee the well-being of the population.
Positive results
The vice president of CACIF, Luis Fernando Leal, remarked that the positive results in the national economy have been achieved thanks to joint work.
In this sense, he recalled that the COVID-19 pandemic represented an opportunity to strengthen the relationship between the public and private sectors.
For his part, Miguel Barrero, resident coordinator of the United Nations System in Guatemala, described the presentation of the report as an pioneering initiative in the region. He also assured that these types of actions demonstrate the country’s commitment to sustainable development.
