Provision of equipment helps technical training of Huehuetecas women
Huehuetenango, November 17 (AGN).- The Municipal Directorate for Women of Huehuetenango received five sewing machines and two ovens, which will strengthen the technical training provided to women from various communities.
Government authorities and residents participated in the act in which the devices were delivered, donated by the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR).
According to what was reported, this provision benefits 70 groups, made up of some 6 thousand womenwho are instructed in various areas.
This is intended to decentralize the training, which is currently carried out in the facilities of the old hospital in the departmental capital.

Governor Jorge Juan De León stressed the importance of having the team to continue with the technical training of mothers and heads of household, who seek to increase their income to improve the conditions of their nucleus.
He also thanked the UNHCR representative in the country, Besem Obenson, and the municipal authorities for joining efforts in this task. According to him, she said, in this way the economic development and empowerment of Huehuetecas women is promoted.
The official recalled that this is an issue prioritized by the government of President Alejandro Giammattei. He also pointed out that through his initiative, various programs have been reinforced to benefit one of the most vulnerable sectors of the population.
