Guatemala City, Nov 17 (AGN).- The President Alejandro Giammattei led this Thursday the weekly meeting of the Council of Ministers, in order to follow up on the proposals for conducting the General Government Policy (PGG) 2020-2024.
From this account, the Chief Executive, together with officials, maintains the work agenda to establish the progress of plans and projects for the benefit of the Guatemalan population..
In each of the entities of the Executive Branch, all those priorities that allow meeting the main needs of Guatemalans are evaluated.
During the meetings of the Council of Ministers, the plans based on the PGG 2020-2024 are specified and formed, which are converted into actions for development.

The objective
To comply with the policy, public institutions, within the framework of their powers and attributions, must give priority to each of the general guidelines of the document.
In this context, and given that the substantial improvement in the living conditions of the Guatemalan population requires a transformation with structural bases, the PGG prioritizes five strategic pillars:
- Economy, Competitiveness and Prosperity: It seeks to achieve the objective of greater economic growth and a significant increase in sources of sustainable employment.
- Social development: AAchieve the objective of directly and effectively serving the poorest, promoting effective and targeted social compensators.
- Governance and Security in Development: PIt seeks to improve the governance of the country for a peaceful and harmonious coexistence, which allows adequate investment conditions.
- Responsible, Transparent and Effective State: PIt seeks to effectively and transparently manage State institutions to put them at the service of citizens.
- Relations with the World: Has as purpose of ensuring the use of international relations. Likewise, it intends that good diplomatic relations improve the order of international trade, tourism, investment and the treatment of migrants.
From this account, the commitment to obtain results that translate into a rule of law that guarantees development, prosperity and improvement in the living conditions of the Guatemalan population.
