The exclusive interview of the British journalist and presenter, Piers Morgan, with Cristiano Ronaldo, continues to generate echoes on social networks and web portals around the world.
This Thursday the second part of it was released and, among other topics, Cristiano had a moment to talk about his “nemesis” in football, Lionel Messi, for whom he only had words of praise and admiration.
“You are number one for me, he (Lionel Messi) is number two,” Morgan begins, accompanied by laughter between the two. “What do you think about him as a person and a footballer?”asks CR7, who without hesitation begins to praise “La Pulga”.
“Incredible. As a player it is magical. Top. We shared the stage for 16 years, imagine. I’m not his friend in terms of being at his house or calling him on the phone, but he’s like a teammate“, confesses CR7 in a very convinced way.
“He is a boy that I really respect. The way he talks about me and even how his wife and my girlfriend show respect to each other… she and my partner are from Argentina. Everything’s fine. What else can I say about Messi, he is a good boy”Add.
“Messi is magical. We have competed for 16 years at the highest level. We have never dined together, why not a first time? I would like to learn and share ideas with him. I’m sure we’ll do it, like Pelé and Maradona did. He is the best I have ever played against”.

The best he’s ever faced
At that moment Morgan takes the opportunity to ask him one of the “million dollar” questions: “Is he the best player you’ve ever seen, excluding you?”questions.
“Probably yes. (I have seen players like) Zidane. But the ones I’ve played and fought against, yes.”says “The Bug”.
The section dedicated to Messi ends with Cristiano admitting that he would like to have dinner with the Argentinian at some point: “We haven’t, but…why not?”ends.

Cristiano and Messi marked an era in soccer playing for Real Madrid and Barcelona, a sports rivalry that, to this day with both players in different leagues, remains alive thanks to their fans and their indelible legacy.
