85 Guatemalan migrants, from Central America, South America and Asia are located in an operation in Veracruz, Mexico
Migration authorities from Mexico reported that in an operation they carried out in a hotel in Veracruz they located 85 migrants who had entered that country irregularly on their way to the United States.
The National Institute of Migration (INM) of the Mexican Ministry of the Interior reported in a November 16 statement that it had identified 85 foreigners who were located at kilometer 104 of the Minatitlán-Córdoba highway.
The migrants were in the vicinity of a hotel in Veracruz, but they could not prove to the authorities their regular stay in the country.
The migrants are from Guatemala, Ecuador, Cuba, Nicaragua, El Salvador, the Dominican Republic and Vietnam.
The INM added that after reviewing the health status of the migrants, it was found that 16 are minors, as well as 28 women and 41 adult men. Within said group of migrants there were three families traveling.
The adult migrants were taken to the INM offices and the minors and the nuclear families were placed under the guardianship of the System for the Comprehensive Development of the Family of the state of Veracruz.
