Guatemala and Spain talk about strengthening the bilateral relationship
Guatemala City, Nov 15 (AGN).- Representatives of Guatemala and Spain held the II Meeting of the Political Consultation Mechanism, a dialogue to strengthen bilateral relations.
According to him Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Minex)the meeting was held to prioritize political and diplomatic ties between both nations.
Likewise, it was intended to strengthen cooperation between countries, increase the flow of trade and investment, promote tourism and cultural exchange, and undertake new joint projects.

Presentation of Guatemala
During the meeting, Vice Chancellor Shirley Aguilar presented the guidelines of the General Government Policy 2020-2024. She also announced the Guatemala Does Not Stop plan, the commercial diplomacy strategy, and the Guatemala Country Brand.
Guatemala and Spain agreed to support multilateralism as a mechanism to seek solutions to global problems, highlighting Central American regional integration and association agreements, Minex said in a statement.
The Guatemalan representatives also reiterated the Government’s position on the situation in Ukraine, which is shared by the Spanish Government.

The Minex affirmed that the II Meeting of the Political Consultation Mechanism allowed the consolidation of the strong bonds of friendship between both nationals.
It also allowed new projects to be evaluated and promoted. In the same way, it became the ideal space to endorse the will of both governments to further consolidate the existing relationship.
The meeting was attended by Juan Fernández Trigo, Secretary of State for Ibero-America, the Caribbean and Spanish in the World, from the Spanish Ministry of Foreign Affairs, European Union and Cooperation.
