Results of support programs for MSMEs and entrepreneurs are presented
Guatemala City, Nov 14 (AGN).- The Guatemalan Government, Through the Ministry of Economy (Mineco), it promotes various programs that benefit Guatemalans who work on the growth of their companies, as well as those entrepreneurs who seek to place their products or services.
From this account, the Vice Minister of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises, Fernando Escalante, presented the results of support programs for Guatemalans during 2022.
Journeys
The Entrepreneur Route is a government initiative that seeks to accompany Guatemalan entrepreneurs in their training process.
It begins with the support of the business idea of the Guatemalan beneficiary until it is consolidated as a company that can help promote employment and provide opportunities to more people.
Escalante mentioned that during 2022, 190 thousand 190 micro, small and medium-sized companies have benefited.
scholarships
The English scholarship program set the goal in 2022 of benefiting 6,000 Guatemalans. With strategies implemented this year, this projection was exceeded and the program recently concluded with the granting of 7,362 scholarships.
These results were also reflected in nursing scholarships. Of a thousand goal scholarships this year, 1,129 were completed.
On the other hand, with the Mipyme Digitization Plan, more than a thousand beneficiaries are registered.
With the Bank of Threads, 5,000 trainings were carried out for artisan women and men. Likewise, 30 thousand beneficiaries are registered with this plan, as well as the signing of various agreements.

Through the Mipyme Development Credit Fund, Mineco highlights that loans were granted to Guatemalans for 144 million 597 thousand 500 quetzales.
Around 200 cases have been attended, and these funds are those offered through the CHN for companies that have suffered from the pandemic or for their recovery, mentioned Escalante.
