Christmas Parade begins its tour this Saturday through the streets of the city

As an announcement of the arrival of the end of the year festivities, floats with Christmas decorations and characters began their journey through the streets of the city this Saturday, November 12.

The Christmas parade organized by the Municipality of Guatemala left tonight from the Civic Center in zone 1 of the capital to go to the Plaza de la Constitución and then go to zone 3.

Santa Claus, a snowy forest, a village, reindeer and a wagon full of toys will color the allegorical floats that will reach the homes of Guatemalans.

Starting this Saturday and for 29 nights in a row, the parade will travel through the 22 areas of the capital from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. The event will conclude on December 10.

According to Mayor Ricardo Quiñonez, this is an activity to share with loved ones. He pointed out that at the request of children and parents, the Christmas parade returns to the streets, as well as the Christmas Festival in the center of the city after being suspended due to the covid-19 pandemic.

Glenda Aguilar, 46, arrived at the parade accompanied by her daughter, who was looking forward to this parade.

This Sunday the floats will visit zones 3 and 7, and they will do so accompanied by seasonal music.
