The United States is the first team to land in Qatar prior to the World Cup
The United States team arrived in Doha this Friday and became the first to land in Qatarwhere the World Cup will begin on the 20th with the opening match between the host team and Ecuador.
As reported by Fifa, the first players entered the country through Hamad International Airport with coach Gregg Berhalter at the helmwhich this week announced the list of 26 American soccer players who will try to overcome England, Wales and Iran in Group B to reach the round of 16.
The United States, co-organizer with Mexico and Canada of the next World Cup to be held in 2026, will participate in its eleventh World Cup and its best result was a third place in the first edition that was held in Uruguay in 1930.
In total, nine players (Sean Johnson, Walker Zimmerman, DeAndre Yedlin, Aaron Long, Shaq Moore, Kellyn Acosta, Cristian Roldán, Jesús Ferreira and Jordan Morris) arrived in Qatar. They all did it together with their coaching staff and the rest of the components of the American expedition will land in Qatar over the next few days when the European leagues end.
At the moment, the fans of the United States are the ones who have bought the most tickets, only behind those of Qatar and Hassan Al Thawadi, the highest authority of the organization in the World Cup, welcomed the first selection:
