After 62 months the effective collaboration agreement of Juan Carlos Monzón Rojas, former private secretary of the former vice presidency, was executed, who became a key piece for the Public Ministry (MP) after revealing two cases of corruption who were born during the administration of the former presidential binomial, Otto Pérez Molina and Roxana Baldetti Elías.

According to Calderon “The future is uncertain because he will be in any country illegally and faces civil death because no country grants him political asylum” and added that the only place that the former head of the Feci, Sandoval Alfaro, offered him was “a house in Guastatoya, El Progreso and it is not a safe place for him and his family.”

According to the court file Juan Carlos Monzón Rojas signed the effective collaboration agreement for the case called La Línea on March 29, 2016, in the following months Monzón Rojas provided information to investigators from the MP and the former CICIG, on the creation of a structure dedicated to customs fraud which was led by former President Otto Pérez Molina and former Vice President Roxana Baldetti.
