The Entrepreneurial Vision Award to strengthen and empower the female business environment

The beneficiaries of this award obtained financial support of USD$9,930 each, which may be used to materialize their business model and facilitate the growth of each one of them. To grant the benefit, 150 projects were qualified, among which 15 were chosen for the second phase of the first cohort of the project and that belong to the productive sectors of handicrafts, gastronomy, health and beauty, hotel services, agribusiness, industry, court and clothing, and shops, among others. From these, the three winners were selected.

CANAC is an initiative that strengthens and empowers the female business environment (institutions, enterprises and MSMEs) through knowledge and economic support, from three modules: skills, entrepreneurship and entrepreneurship.

“It gives us great satisfaction to have a shared vision with the Guatemalan government to seek the development of Guatemalan women through the implementation of projects such as CANAC that promote the economic reactivation of the country in the post-pandemic era and reaffirm the friendly relationship between both countries. ”, indicated Li-Cheng Cheng, ambassador of the Republic of China (Taiwan) in Guatemala.

The Entrepreneurial Vision Award that was delivered within the framework of the World Entrepreneurship Week, is an exclusive contest for the participants of the Entrepreneurship module, who received training and advice for several months on marketing, business design, finance and sales, among others. .

Additionally, other recognitions of support were granted to encourage entrepreneurship, such as the case of Angel Capital USD$3,465; Comprehensive Consulting USD$3,465 and Relief Fund USD$3,000.

The CANAC project was carried out in different departments of the country thanks to the participation of strategic allies, including the Municipal Center for Entrepreneurship (CME), the Rafael Landívar University (URL), the Faculty of Economic Sciences of the USAC, the Faculty of Engineering of the USAC and the University Center of Oriente, entities that share values ​​and goals focused on training and education, and that believe in the power of knowledge as an engine of development.
