Jorge Rodas and his slate appear at the Palacio de los Deportes to seek to take possession of the Executive Committee of the COG

As planned, Jorge Rodas’ form arrived this morning at the Palacio de los Deportes facilities with the mission of taking office in the position of Executive Committee of the Guatemalan Olympic Committee (COG).

In the midst of the crisis that national sport is experiencing, in which athletes were prohibited from representing Guatemala with its flag and they were forced to do it neutrallythe Constitutional Court (CC) protected Jorge Rodas and his payroll to preside over the COG.

Last Thursday, the CC granted provisional protection to the board headed by former player Jorge Rodas to be in command of the COG and also he ordered his General Assembly and the Interim Executive Committee to be sworn in along with his payroll and gave them a term of three days.

For this reason, Rodas and his list arrived this Monday at 11 a.m. at the Palacio de los Deportes where they were guarded by members of the National Civil Police (PNC).

According to a statement from the Elected Executive Committee, if the Assembly does not arrive at the inauguration, they would be committing a crime of disobedience.
