Entities follow up on reports of rumblings in Villa Nueva
Guatemala City, Nov 6 (AGN).- The National Coordinator for Disaster Reduction (Conred) mobilized a team to Villa Nueva, where residents of several neighborhoods reported strong rumblings on Saturday night.
Together with authorities and personnel from the municipality, the experts made a field visit to different points of the Monte Cristo, El Tabacal and Frisa residential areas.
Through social networks, Conred reported that the specialized staff develops the analysis of the data obtained from the evaluations.

For his part, the National Institute of Seismology, Volcanology, Meteorology and Hydrology (Insivumeh) issued a statement in which it indicates that the seismic signals near the Villa Nueva area were reviewed.
Seismic stations in San José Pinula, Villa Canales and in the surroundings of the Pacaya Volcano recorded a transient seismic signalthe document reads.
It is also made clear that it is not the signal of a tectonic seismic event; however, it is not ruled out that it is associated with the rumblings that the residents heard and reported.

The entity reported that the Department of Research and Geophysical Services follows up on the reports and instrumental records available. He added that timely information about the event will be provided.
