The edition of the day after the final also highlights how the victory was celebrated in Brazil. “The Brazilians shed their inhibitions last night to celebrate with almost tumultuous demonstrations the second consecutive victory of the national team in the soccer world championship,” reads the chronicle.
“Overwhelmed by emotion, men and women wept and laughed intermittently as they gave free rein to their feelings for the victory of Brazil,” the 1962 account continues.
