As of this November 2, the closures will begin due to the construction of an overpass that will have a connection between zones 5 and 10, for which the Municipality of Guatemala announced which sections will be affected and the diversions of vehicular traffic.
The commune reported that the detours will be at night, starting at 9:00 p.m. to 4:00 a.m. the next day, from November 2 to 9, 2022.
The overpass is planned for construction in the 6th avenue and 1st. zone 10 street
The work during this week consists of a conditioning phase and measurements to start the work, the commune reported in one of the notices.
Closures in zone 5 and 10
Amílcar Montejo, road spokesman in the Municipality of Guatemala, expanded information on the alternate routes due to the closures due to the phase prior to the construction of the unevenness.
The spokesman indicated that the pilots who are heading from Reforma Avenue towards Mariscal Cruz, they will not be able to turn right on 6th Avenuebut should continue directly to 6th avenue “A”.
Similarly, Montejo explained that drivers traveling from Vista Hermosa, when passing through Campo Marte or the Army Stadium, will have to turn right on Mariscal Street, to go to Reforma Avenue.
