Deploy immediate response teams
Guatemala City, Nov. 1 (AGN). – To strengthen capacities and provide an immediate response to the entry of tropical cyclone Lisa, the deployment of specialized teams to different points of the national territory was instructed.
The National Coordinator for Disaster Reduction (Conred) strategically dispatched immediate response teams to the departments of:
- Izabal
- Upper Verapaz
- Retalhuleu
The objective is to define actions for the benefit of the population that is in situations of risk, emergency or disaster (RED).

The Conred continues to develop preventive actions in attention to the population that may be affected by the rains, maintaining constant communication with the territorial authorities for decision-making.

Lisa Cyclone
According to the National Institute of Seismology, Volcanology, Meteorology and Hydrology (Insivumeh), the trajectory and timeline of tropical cyclone Lisa is that it moves at a speed of 22.5 kilometers towards Belize.
The natural phenomenon is in the second alert zone for the territory. He also pointed out that from Thursday an increase in rains is expected at the national level.

Lisa is in the Insivumeh Tropical Cyclone Operational Plan Warning Area and continues to move west.
The system has conditions to strengthen to a hurricane before entering Belize. However, the projection is that it will affect Guatemala as a tropical storm starting Thursday. This would cause an increase in clouds and rain for Friday and Saturday.
