Antigua Guatemala, Sacatepéquez, Oct 29 (AGN).- The colonial city of Antigua Guatemala welcomed the third presidential tour 2022, which is led by the President Alejandro Giammattei.
It is a meeting in which we want to present the results of the Ministries of State of what has been done for more than 2 years with nine months of management. The purpose is to present the results and tell you about the projects for the next year, the ruler said.
In this regard, the dignitary stressed that during these meetings the resources allocated to the municipalities are followed up, in order to continue advancing in the execution of projects and carry out development.
The mayors of Sacatepéquez, as well as the departmental governor, were present at the meeting.
In addition, ministers and deputy ministers of State participate in the work table, who will make the presentation of progress and execution of projects.
From that account, authorities present in this third presidential tour 2022 the details of the investment resources programmed and assigned in:
- sanitation
- education
- drinking water
- road infrastructure
- Health
- productive infrastructure
Details
The purpose of the tours is to verify compliance with the commitments and attention to requests by the mayors.
In addition, the meeting provides continuity and support to local governments for the planning and execution of works for 2023.
The authorities recall that this week, President Giammattei has visited Chiquimula, Zacapa, Izabal and Petén.
Meanwhile, this Saturday I will visit the departments of Chimaltenango and Sacatepéquez, in order to follow up on each of the development projects.

Department
Sacatepéquez (Nahuatl word that means on the hill covered with grass) is one of the twenty-two departments that make up Guatemala.
It is located in the central region of Guatemala and is the second most important in the country after the department of Guatemala, since five of its 16 municipalities are located within the 20 most important cities in the country.
Its main source of income, apart from tourism, is agriculture. Its lands are fertile, so its agricultural production is large and varied, highlighting very good quality coffee, sugar cane, wheat, corn, beans, vegetables from temperate zones.
Also, the cultivation of carrots, green beans and peas. Also, among the fruits we can mention the peach, pear, apple and avocado.
Currently, the production of flowers stands out, as well as the raising of cattle and horses.
