The Public Ministry (MP) continues with the investigation of the businessman’s case Victor Manuel Oajaca Santis, who was killed inside his home on October 16.
Now, among the evidence obtained, a vehicle is one of the key parts in the investigation.
Oaxaca Santis was found dead by his relatives inside a building in a private neighborhood in San Francisco Zapotitlan, Suchitepequez.
The Suchitepéquez District Attorney’s Office then began the investigation and determined that three unknown persons entered the house and fled in the vehicle that belonged to the family.
Also, after obtaining the testimonials, the alleged criminals would have attacked and threatened the relatives of Oajaca Santis with firearms, when they arrived at the house.
They were forced to lie on the ground and tied up. The suspects then fled the scene in a red pickup truck.
Minutes later, it was found that Oaxaca Santis was lifeless, bound hand and foot. Next to him was an orange plastic bag, with which they presumably suffocated him, since he did not show any gunshot wounds or other signs of violence.
In accordance with the evidence, the report of the National Institute of Forensic Sciences (Inacif) established that the cause of death of Oajaca Santis was due to suffocation by suffocation.

Following up on the case, the MP reported on Monday, October 17, that they identified that the victim was 41 years old and that they followed up on other indications after receiving the complaint.
During the proceedings, the vehicle that had been stolen by the suspects was found inside a farm located in cuyotenango, in that same department.
Vehicle and security cameras
LInvestigators found the stolen vehicle completely burnedone day after the events.
In addition to inspecting the rooms of the house, and analyzing the forensic tests that were carried out on the victim, it was reported that audiovisual material was extracted from the security cameras.
Although the individuals passed through security, the prosecution is now seeking to reconstruct the path that the vehicle made since it left the condominium. In addition, it is verifying the plates and related information.
“The prosecution is waiting for reports from some institutions and the result of this information will lead to new proceedings that help clarify the fact,” it was also reported.
Oaxaca Santis had already suffered an attack two weeks before the crime against him.
Local media documented that the businessman suffered an armed attack on the route between Mazatenango and Retalhuleu. On that occasion, apparently two individuals who were driving on a motorcycle fired at the vehicle.
Although one of the bullets went through the glass on the driver’s side, the businessman was unharmed.
