Madrid’s frustration at the end turned to relief after Benzema managed to celebrate after his third attempt; the first two were annulled by the VAR as well as another by the Austrian David Alaba.
The real Madrid demonstrated an associative soccer right this Wednesday against the team that occupies the last place in the LaLiga table, but the goal eluded him on several occasions.
The offsides punished Madrid up to three timessomething that frustrated those led by Carlo Ancelotti and the current Best Player in the World, Karim Benzema.
But for the games in which Madrid gets stuck, the solution is Uruguay’s Federico Valverde. The charrúa scored again with the merengue shirt to open the scoring at the Martínez Valero stadium:

But in the second half, Real Madrid and Benzema got their reward. The Frenchman was finally able to celebrate in the game and he did it in the most ingenious way, imitating the movement with the hands that the referee makes when reviewing the VAR:

With this win, Real Madrid consolidates its leadership in LaLiga with 28 points while Elche’s ship sank in last position and only three units.
