TSE formalizes cancellation of the UCN party that promoted the candidacy of Mario Estrada

The Registry of Citizens of the Supreme Electoral Tribunal (TSE) reported through an edict that canceled the legal personality of the Union of National Change (UCN), a group that promoted the presidential candidacy of Mario Estrada, convicted in the United States for drug trafficking.

The decision is due to the party broke the rules that regulate the financing of political organizations.

“The Department of Political Organizations is ordered to make the corresponding annotations, since this resolution is the name, andThe symbol or emblem of the canceled political party may not be used or registered by any political organization before ten years”, details the edict.

It is important to remember that the cancellation process began with an audit of the TSE that determined that the UCN made expenditures with publicly financed funds between 2014 and 2015 no supporting documents. Also, he issued checks to party executives that were not documented. And he did not report all the expenses of the 2015 campaign, when Mario Estrada was a presidential candidate.

UCN is the political party that promoted the candidacy of Mario Estrada, who was arrested two years ago in Miami, United States, for his links with the Sinaloa cartel.
