All Saints’ Day is sweetened with Saint Martin
In Mexico, during the first days of November, the living talk about the dead and childhood memories come like movie images of past events, commemorating them with the bread of the dead, which is ceremonial because it is placed on altars and depending of the region, varies in mass and shape.
Like every year on this date, San Martín invites Guatemalans to live those emotions that open the way to the most beautiful season of the year and with it remember loved ones and give thanks.
The bread of the dead this time is accompanied by four new presentations, the dead bread, stuffed with Bavarian cream. The others are with granulated sugar, filled with chocolate coverage and traditional covered entirely in chocolate, all made with the original recipe of San Martín.
“Every time we return to share our recipes for pan de muerto and pumpkin pie in our stores, we get excited because we know that in every home and in every corner of the country unique moments are enjoyed and lived that feed the heart and fill the tables with flavor and tradition”, said Azucena Peña, manager of the San Martín bakery brand.
You could not miss the delicious pumpkin pie, made under the bakery’s unique recipe, enjoyed at lunch and dinner, especially as the favorite Thanksgiving dessert.
The products are already on sale and will end their promotion on different dates, the original bread of the dead will be available until November 1, the dead ones, on November 6; and the pumpkin pie until November 24.
“In 1997 the owners of San Martín made a trip to Mexico and brought back the recipe for the pan de muerto, we began to work on it and it was two years later that we put the first 30 pans of the dead on sale, with time the recipe We perfected it and we realized that we were creating a tradition for our clients that spread throughout Guatemala. San Martín, innovative as always, now produces around 80,000 units,” concluded Leonel Rodríguez, San Martín’s production manager.
