Communications prevails over Xelajú in Camposeco and maintains the lead
It was not the best match for Communications in the football section this Saturday night at the Mario Camposeco Stadium against Xelajú MC, however, the cream team knew how to be effective and achieved the three points by winning 1-0.
The local team, Xelajú MC was the team that proposed the most during the 90 minutes of the commitment, however, his superiority could not be capitalized, either due to the punctual interventions of Kevin Moscoso in the cream arch or due to the lack of offensive clarity of the super goat players.
The match became even, and during the first minutes it was Xelajú who commanded, however, at minute 11, Comunicaciones took the lead on one of the few occasions he had, it was a shot by William Fajardo at the entrance of the area that culminated at the bottom of the goal defended by José Calderón.
Being down on the scoreboard and with the need to seek to add the three points at home, things went uphill for the quetzaltecos when their striker Darwin Lom had to leave the match due to an apparent injury to the aduptor.
Lom’s injury also sets off alarms in the National Team, since the striker was shaping up to be one of those called up for next week’s match against Qatar.
The second half was almost a reflection of the first, Xelajú proposed and constantly searched for the cream archhowever, a deflected aim, lack of ideas in attack and occasional interventions by Moscoso prevented the fall of his goal.
In attack Communications offered little or nothing during the second half, limiting himself to looking for a counterattack. The strategy almost paid off, since in the 74th minute Lynner García scored, but he was ahead and the goal did not go up on the scoreboard.
After the end of the match, Comunicaciones achieved its 8th victory in a row against Xelajú MC and three important points that place the Coito team as the sole leader of Apertura 2022.
The creams add 26 points in 15 gamesfollowed by Cobán Imperial with 24 units and Antigua GFC closes the podium with 22.
Xelajú, for its part, remains eighth with 19 points, the same as Municipal (7) and Iztapa (9). The defeat against Communications not only means three points less, but also the loss of the undefeated at home of the super goats in the Tournament.
