Dalia Soberanis asks for financial support to participate in the World Skating Championship

Dahlia Soberaniswho on June 25 won the gold medal in the 200-meter speed test of the Valledupar 2022 Bolivarian Games, is requesting financial support from Guatemalans to be able to compete in the World Figure Skating Championships.

Guatemalan figure skater winner of a bronze and a silver at the Lima 2019 Pan American Games, used social networks to share a video in which she reviews her main achievements and request support.

“With Dalia to the World Cup! Account Industrial Bank Monetary 6980002528. Any help is very welcome 🥰 If it’s over Q100 your name will be on my uniform! 💙”, wrote the national athlete. In addition to Dalia, 15 other skaters will not be able to attend the World Cup event.

The Guatemalan National Skating Federation had published a statement in which he regretted not being able to support his athletes to compete in the World (World Games 2022)which will be held in Argentina from October 24 to November 13.

“Prior to notifying the athletes about the situation of not being able to support them financially, all possible options were managed, we are currently in the situation of a possible COG suspensionthe entity that provides financial support to our athletes through our federation,” the document states.

The imminent suspension of national sport (Guatemalan Olympic Committee) on behalf of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) that will be official in the next few hours, has already harmed the first athletes.
