Guatemala City, Oct 10 (AGN).- During the update on the behavior of tropical cyclone Julia, the National Institute of Seismology, Volcanology, Meteorology and Hydrology (Insivumeh) reports that this atmospheric phenomenon has deteriorated to remainder.
We have just been informed that the tropical cyclone has been downgraded to a remnant. This means that these are the last vestiges of the tropical cyclone and what it leaves us with is a lot of moisture, said Wilson Garcia, director of the Insivumeh.
Monitoring and assistance
As expressed by García, the corresponding monitoring is maintained due to the humidity left by this hydrological phenomenon.
This does not mean that we are lowering our guard, said the head of the Insivumeh, recalling that the Iota storm also became remainder and caused damage.

This Julia Pass update also highlights that while the system has weakened, rainy conditions could continue for the next 36-48 hours.
Also, the largest accumulated are forecast for the Pacific, Bocacosta, eastern valleys, central highlands, and the Northern Transversal Strip.

Incidents
According to Oscar Cossío, executive secretary of the National Coordinator for Disaster Reduction (Conred), there have been 60 incidents associated with Julia.
The official mentioned that there are 166,094 people affected, 486 affected, 1,307 evacuated, and 292 at risk.
In addition, 1,047 sheltered, 8 deceased, 3 missing, 7 injured, as well as 2,652 people treated.
Also reported are 329 homes with moderate damage, 156 with severe damage, one with slight damage and 60 homes at risk. There are 19 roads affected, 5 bridges with the same conditions and one more destroyed.
