recommendations
The National Coordinator for Disaster Reduction (Conred) reiterates recommendations to the Guatemalan population to avoid emergencies.
Due to atmospheric conditions, there is a high probability of flash flooding of rivers, floods, lahars in active volcanoes, mass movements and damage to the road network. The artisanal fishermen take the necessary precautions in the face of the possible intensification of the waves in the Caribbean, adds the Conred.
Furthermore, the following is recommended:
- stay informed through official information channels of the institutions of the Conred system
- report any situation of risk, emergency or disaster to the authorities by calling 119
- drive carefully on road sections with steep topographies
This includes information through official channels.
