Casillas, Santa Rosa, Oct 7 (AGN).- As part of the actions on food and nutritional security in the country, President Alejandro Giammattei led the delivery of rations to residents of Casillas Santa Rosa, which is part of the Program of Food Assistance, in charge of the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Food (MAGA).
We have to bet on serving people, people in need. So far this year, more than 18,000 people have benefited from the rations in the department of Santa Rosa alone, indicated the president.
This strategy is worked together with the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Food (MAGA) and the Ministry of Social Development (Mides).
This means that the Government of the Republic is thinking of those most in need, emphasized the head of MAGA, José Ángel López.
For his part, Luis Gustavo Iboy, representative of the Vice Ministry of Food Security (Visan), explained that they are working so that the program, promoted by the central government, reaches the inhabitants as soon as possible.
Attendance
Each ration is made up of nutritious food for a family of five members for an average of 30 days.

The project is created by Decree No. 12-2020 Law to Protect Guatemalans from the Effects Caused by the Coronavirus COVID-19 Pandemic. Given this, Government Agreement No. 60-2020, Regulations for the COVID-19 Food Support and Prevention Program, emerged for the correct application of the benefit.
This action implemented by the central government seeks to guarantee the right to good nutrition for families affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.
Beneficiaries
In the department of Santa Rosa, 3,369 food rations were delivered in support of families in vulnerable conditions.
The Government of Guatemala has reiterated the importance of assisting the most vulnerable Guatemalans. Among these strategies is the Great National Crusade for Nutrition, which works to unite various sectors to benefit more areas of the national territory.
Therefore, it has been proposed to strengthen certain services through expanded primary health care. This is intended to increase access to the promotion, prevention and care of education, health, nutrition, physical, economic and social access to good nutrition.
In this context, President Alejandro Giammattei and his General Government Policy (2020-2024) under the axis of Social Development, seeks to provide direct and effective attention to the poorest population in the country, through programs and other social promoters, that prioritize the development of Guatemalan families.
