A brace from Lezcano and another goal from Santis lead Communications to victory over Mixco

The Doroteo Guamuch Flores Stadium was the stage where the Communications teams and Deportivo Mixco met on matchday 14 of the 2022 Opening Tournament.

In the preview of the match, two teams are mediated in very different conditions: The white team arrived with the possibility of becoming the leader of the tournament and their last two games ended in victories (0-1 vs Guastatoya and 1-0 against Xinabajul, the latter with controversy).

Deportivo Mixco for its part, arrived with the great need to get points from one of the most complicated visits on his calendar. In their last five games, the chicharronero team had 3 losses and 2 draws, which kept them in possession 11th in the table and led to the dismissal of Julio Gómez as coach of the institution.

Despite playing with one less, Communications did not stop insisting and almost made it 2-1 when Santis gave the ball to Lezcano (who came on as a substitute) and the Tico-Guatemalan sent his header to the crossbar.

A few minutes later, at 75 ‘, Lezcano, who had missed a great opportunity seconds before, sent the ball to the bottom of Mixco’s goal after a header, Kenderson Navarro collaborated in the action, the goalkeeper miscalculated his exit and was half way.
