Guatemala City, Oct 5 (AGN).- Starting this Wednesday, Guatemala will participate in the 52 Period of Sessions of the General Assembly of the Organization of American States (OAS).
The activity will take place in Lima, Peru, and will last three days.
During this period, a Guatemalan delegation will represent the country in the event that will carry as its motto Together against inequality and discrimination.

According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Minex), during the OAS assembly, member states will discuss strategies to eradicate hunger and promote food security.
On the other hand, the country is expected to reaffirm its commitment to the protection of human rights.
Another aspect highlighted by the Foreign Ministry is the presentation of a statement on continued support to put an end to Russia’s aggression against Ukraine. This, in pursuit of suspending the first country as an OAS observer.
Likewise, Guatemala is expected to participate in the Dialogue of Representatives of Civil Society Organizations. This will open an important space for discussion to continue laying the foundations towards a more equitable region free of discrimination.
The country will also be part of the VI Meeting of the Summit Implementation Review Group.
It will have the clear objective of promoting work towards the five commitment projects agreed upon in the framework of the 9a. Summit of the Americas and aimed at strengthening health systems, working towards a green future, continuing efforts towards digital transformation and reinforcing democracy in the region, the MInex explained.
In addition, Guatemalan Foreign Minister Mario Búcaro is expected to attend bilateral meetings with his counterparts in the region. This will allow bilateral relations and cooperation to be strengthened.
