Puerto Barrios, Izabal, Oct 5 (AGN).- To promote development in Izabal, the Guatemalan Government will promote projects to benefit fishermen of said department.
According to President Alejandro Giammattei, his administration intends to grant financing so that fishermen have better boats and store their products in cold rooms.

He also mentioned that a budget readjustment will be made so that the granting of funds becomes a reality. With this, Izabal fishermen are expected to have the corresponding investment at the end of October.

Teamwork
At the event, fishermen received food rations as part of a strategy promoted by the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Food (MAGA).
In this sense, the President called on the residents to organize themselves and work as a team to streamline the programs designed for them.
Benefits for fishermen
According to the MAGA representative, Waldemar Monroy, the fishermen have been benefited with stipends and installation of orchards, among other projects.
These actions are part of the General Government Policy 2020-2024 and the strategic planning of MAGA.
On the other hand, they reinforce and dignify the work of Izabalenses fishermen.
