A strategically structured competitive plan is the one that has led the Guatemalan pilot Francisco Arredondo to Morocco, where this Saturday will take the exit of the Morocco Rally 2022, a competition in which the best in the world will participate, who take the race as a dress rehearsal for the Dakar 2023.
This will be one of the most competitive rallies in recent years, since the car category has 25 percent more entries, with one hundred vehicles added to the 140 motorcycles and nine trucks.
Arredondo will compete in the modality of motorcycles in the Rally2 division, driving a KTM 450 motorcycle of the Puma Energy Rally Team, which will be marked with the number 34.
The national rider arrives at this appointment after finishing a training camp in Spain a few days ago, where he focused on the best handling of the “Road Book” or Route Book.
At the end of the practice he moved to Morocco, where he is looking forward to the departure this Saturday.
This year’s Moroccan event will have interesting novelties, including the new route, which abandons the concept of a single camp to move the caravan along the Atlantic coast.
The Rally will set foot on classic Dakar territory, with cities like Tan Tan o Agadir and mythical dune areas such as Erg Chebbi or Chegaga.
“We will take the competition with patience. Analyzing each day of the route to refine details in terms of handling and navigation, and get to the Dakar 2023 as well as possible, which is our great goal,” said Arredondo.
This Saturday, October 1, there will be a special of nine kilometers in the surroundings of Agadir. On Sunday they begin the tough confrontation between Agadir and Tan-Tan, with a special of 322 kilometers.
On Monday, from Tan-Tan to Laayoune, with 322 kilometers of special. On Tuesday, the competition will be in the vicinity of Laayoune, with a special of 300 kilometers.
On Wednesday, the return to Tan-Tan, with the longest special, 346 kilometres, and on Thursday, the final stage, to Agadir, with a special of 290 kilometers.
