Chicacao, Suchitepéquez, Sep 30 (AGN).- Around 711 students from Chicacao, Suchitepéquez, now have decent physical facilities to receive an education.
This after the President Alejandro Giammattei deliver the renovation works that were carried out in the Official Urban School for Girls Gabriela Mistral.
It is not only about having good teachers or having books, but about having places where students can receive classes with dignity, said the president.
He also pointed out that the project was carried out under the coordination of the Ministries of Education (Mineduc) and Communications, Infrastructure and Housing (CIV).

About the renovation
The report from the CIV State Building Construction Unit (UCE) indicates that the project had an investment of 6,542,395.16 quetzals.
In addition, the work included the renovation of the kitchen modules, classrooms on the first and second levels, warehouse, restrooms and sink. The sports field of the establishment was also roofed.
Other actions that were carried out were the application of paint throughout the educational center, change of the load-bearing structure and replacement of the electrical network.
The drinking water system was also corrected, the windows and doors were replaced and the environments and exterior work were improved.
Strengthening education
President Giammattei visited three schools in Suchitepéquez on Friday: the Gabriela Mistral Official Urban School for Girls, the Centennial School and the October 20 School for Boys.
The three buildings had not been comprehensively renovated for several years, so the current administration prioritized it.
According to the president, the Executive allocated around 15 million quetzales for the works.
