Festival promotes entrepreneurship in Salamá, Baja Verapaz

Guatemala City, Sep 29 (AGN).- Under the program of Entrepreneur Route, The My People My Product festival was held in Salamá, Baja Verapaz.

The Ministry of Economy (Mineco)through the Vice Ministry of Development of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), carried out this activity for the seventh consecutive year in that department. The event was coordinated by the Baja Verapaz Economic Dynamization headquarters.

Participated in the festival 110 companies from different departments, including:

  • Lower Verapaz
  • Upper Verapaz
  • Sacatepequez
  • peten
  • Izabal
  • Santa Rosa
  • Chiquimula
  • Huehuetenango
  • the capital

According to the calculations of the organizers, during the two days that the festival lasted, it closed with an approximate sales of between 500 and a thousand quetzales for each company.

The attendees and entrepreneurs showed their gratitude and joy for the activity, as it was a great support to create new business ties.

Inter-institutional support

This project works together with various institutions that promote the development of Guatemalan entrepreneurs.

On this occasion, the Mineco worked hand in hand with the Municipal Office for Economic Development of Salamá and members of the Commission for Economic Development, Tourism, Environment and Natural Resources. Likewise, from the Ministry of Labor, Technical Training Institute and the Municipality of Salamá.

On the other hand, these programs, promoted by the government of President Alexander Giammattei, seek to strengthen the development of new entrepreneurs. These actions are achieved thanks to various strategies implemented for the economic reactivation of the country, creating new opportunities for MSMEs that are sources of employment for Guatemalans.
