The Funeral of Queen Elizabeth II of England took place this Monday, September 19. Several leaders, diplomats, heads of state and various guests gathered to say goodbye to the monarch with the longest service in Great Britain.
Guatemala was represented by the Guatemalan ambassador to the United Kingdom, José Alberto Briz Gutiérrez, as confirmed by the Foreign Ministry on its social networks.

Briz assumed the leadership of the embassy in May 2021, after Acisclo Valladares Molina was dismissed after 10 years in office.
Queen Elizabeth’s funeral
Westminster Abbey became the center of world power on Monday to fire Elizabeth II. According to international media, some two thousand people attended her funeral.
Among the attendees were the president of the United States, Joe Biden, and his wife, Jill Biden. The president and the first lady attended the reception for the heads of state at Buckingham Palace last night, after passing through Westminster Hall to pay their respects to Elizabeth II.

The mortal remains of the monarch rest in Windsor Castle, where the remains of Elizabeth II’s father, King George VI, as well as her mother, Elizabeth Bowes, as well as her sister Margaret, also rest.
