President Giammattei participates in leadership conference
Guatemala City, September 28 (AGN).- President Alexander Giammattei participated in the conference The essential principles of a leader today, driven by the organization Prosperous Guatemala.
At the event, the president stressed that through activities of this type, the transformation of citizenship and the promotion of principles and values are sought. In addition, he indicated that today’s society faces different challenges, one of which is raised in the title of the conference.
For what he referred to leadership as an aspect that should bring people together to take initiative and continue defending the values of society.
A leader assumes great responsibilities. He must make decisions, which are not always popular, or he is usually under multiple pressures, the president added.
Likewise, he stressed that reasoning in decision-making must adhere to principles, virtues and values, in order to achieve moral excellence. In addition, he mentioned that a good leader is capable of promoting the unity of a nation, which requires determination and integrity, and putting his talents at the service of the community.
In that sense, he pointed out that Guatemala is on the way to the difference, because the current administration has promoted unity among all sectors of Guatemala.

Attendees to the event
During his speech, the President thanked the 48th Vice President of the United States, Michael Pence, who attended the event, for sharing his story of service, ideas and experiences as a leader.
In this sense, Pence stressed that it is of great importance to maintain teamwork, both between countries and between communities, to achieve great changes. Therefore, he reaffirmed the commitment with Guatemala to ensure security, quality of life and human development.
The conference was also attended by Mark Smith, president of Columbia University, and Luis Bosch, president of the Guatemalan Chamber of Industry; as well as other American leaders.

The participating authorities reiterated the commitment of the Government of Guatemala to strengthen efforts that allow freedom of faith throughout the country.
Given this, the president emphasized that the protection of life and freedom of religion have been two issues that his management has prioritized.
When you fight for what you believe in, in the end prosperity will come to life, not for one but for those who fought, Giammattei stressed.
Likewise, he called on the population to maintain the ethical and moral values that are part of the different groups that make up the interreligious table.
We preserve the fight in faith as the highest aspiration of the unity of the peoples, to achieve the prosperity of our country, the president concluded.
Prosperous Guatemala
The Guatemala Prospera organization has as part of its main axes to promote positive leadership to achieve the development of the population. That is why, since its foundation, it has invited leaders of large companies at a national and international level to share experiences on the impact of leadership.
All this is achieved through training and learning workshops that since 2013 have impacted more than 2 million people on issues of values and principles.
