Mineco advises small entrepreneurs to obtain licenses

Guatemala City, Sep 26 (AGN).- The actions to boost the economy in the departments are constant and the comprehensive approach, as it ranges from training local producers and support to establish commercial links to advice to formalize ventures and granting of seed capital for new businesses.

The Ministry of Economy (Mineco) has various strategies in this area and some are executed by the Vice Ministry of Development of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (Vicemipyme). Such is the case of the instruction that was recently given to 50 producers of various items in Chiquimula and Zacapa.

Through a statement, the portfolio reported that the beneficiaries learned about the procedures for obtaining health registrations and licenses. They also learned about the business development services provided by the aforementioned agency, such as linking with public and private entities to improve their competitiveness.

As indicated, the participants are dedicated to the production of peanuts, honey, wines, confectionery and cleaning items.

Field trip

During the activity, the production plant of the Rosario’s company, which is dedicated to the production of honey and its derivatives, as well as artisanal wines, was visited. The objective was to make an evaluation to prepare the company to obtain the corresponding registrations and licenses.

The authorities indicated that this action will be replicated in other businesses so that they are ready to receive the personnel of the Ministries of Health and Environmentresponsible for granting authorizations.

Rosario Cordón, one of the favored ones, thanked the Mineco for developing this type of activities; Likewise, she highlighted the importance of having advice for the management of operating permits for its production plant. Other participants spoke along the same lines.
